'The Trade Marks Act was amended in 1994 to incorporate the protection of service marks.'

This consolidated version of the Trade Marks Act incorporates all the amendments up to the Trade Marks (Amendment) Act, 1994 (Act No. 5 of 1994), that entered into force on March 1, 1995.
For the amendments introduced by the Trade Marks (Amendment) Act, 1994, see the following provisions of the consolidated version:
-Part I, Section 2;
-Part II, Sections 5 to 9; Sections 12, 15, 17, 18; and
-Part III, Section 23.
