This consolidated version of the Registered Designs Act 1949 (Chapter 88, updated up to October 24, 2020) takes account amendments up to the Intellectual Property (Unjustified Threats) Act 2017 (Chapter 14) and the Digital Economy Act 2017 (Chapter 30).
The said Acts introduced amendments (in force from 01/10/2017) to the following provisions of the consolidated version:
- Cross-headings "Legal proceedings: general"; "Unjustified threats" and "Meaning of “the court” and appeals" inserted;
- Section 45(1A) inserted.
This consolidated version shows the changes introduced by a listing of legislation that entered into force on January 1, 2021 (Brexit day) and has not yet been incorporated into the said version (see the Table of changes of legislation at the end of this consolidated version for details).
