Year of Version 2020 Dates Amended up to: April 25, 2020 Entry into force: January 1, 2001 Adopted: October 10, 2000 Type of Text Main IP Laws   Subject Matter Trademarks, Geographical Indications Subject Matter (secondary) Enforcement of IP and Related Laws, IP Regulatory Body, Competition, Plant Variety Protection, Trade Names, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Notes This consolidated version of Law No. VIII-1981 of October 10, 2000, on Trademarks takes into account amendments up to Law No. XIII-2860 of April 21, 2020, which entered into force on April 25, 2020. The said amending Law No. XIII-2860 added paragraph 7 to Article 54 under Section Three, Chapter III of this consolidated version of Law No. IX-352. Paragraph 7 relates to the suspension of payment of the fees and time limits which shall apply until withdrawal of restrictions related to free movement of persons or freedom of economic activities in the Republic of Lithuania. Date of withdrawal of suspension will be announced by a separate notification of the State Patent Bureau. The Notes under Article 54, paragraph 7 establishes the suspension of the payment of fees and the time limits thereof which have not yet expired on the date of entry into force of the 'Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania No. 207 of March 14, 2020, on the Announcement of Quarantine in the Territory of the Republic of Lithuania', and which shall start after this Resolution entered into force (i.e. March 16, 2020).
