Notes
The Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan provides basic rights and freedoms, including freedom of speech and creativity. The Constitution recognizes the rights of citizens to private property (Articles 6 & 26); guarantees the freedom of creative activities (Articles 19(2) & 20(1)), and protects historical and cultural heritage (Article 37).
This consolidated version of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan takes into account amendments up to "Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 238-VL of March 23, 2019", which was published in the Official Gazette 'Egemen Kazakhstan' and entered into force on March 25, 2019.
The said Law No. 238-VL introduces the following amendments to Article 2 of this consolidated version:
- Paragraph 3 was reworded;
- Paraparagraph 3-1 was amended where the word 'Astana' was replaced by the word 'Nur-Sultan'.
