The notification by Japan to the WTO under article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'The Act on Protection of the Names of Specific Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Products and Foodstuffs, as amended by: Act No.88 of 2018.
The Act on Protection of the Names of Specific Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Products and Foodstuffs was amended in order to realize GI protection in response to the Japan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement.'
This consolidated version of the Act on Protection of the Names of Specific Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Products and Foodstuffs incorporates all the amendments up to Act No. 88 of December 7, 2018, which entered into force on February 1, 2019.
