Year of Version 2019 Dates Entry into force: January 14, 2019 Adopted: October 17, 2018 Type of Text Implementing Rules/Regulations Subject Matter Geographical Indications Notes Article 62 entitled 'Entry into force and application' of the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/33 of 17 October 2018 states:
'This Regulation shall enter into force on the third day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.'.
This Regulation was published on January 11, 2019, and entered into force on January 14, 2019.

The notification by the European Union to the WTO under Article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'The text includes the secondary legislation of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 (circulated to Members in document IP/N/1/EU/G/4) for the part which concerns designations of origin and geographical indications in the wine sector. In particular the text concerns: applications for protection (rules on name, applicant, product specification, derogations concerning production in the geographical area, national procedure, joint applications, transitional national protection, admissibility and scrutiny of the application); the objection procedure (admissibility, grounds, procedure, restrictions); amendments to product specifications (types of amendments, definition, admissibility and procedure for all types); cancellation of protection (admissibility, grounds and procedure); use of symbols indications and abbreviations (temporary labelling and derogations); transitional measures.'
