Year of Version 2018 Dates Amended up to: May 25, 2018 Entry into force: August 18, 1970 Promulgated: July 7, 1970 Type of Text Main IP Laws   Subject Matter Patents (Inventions) Subject Matter (secondary) Enforcement of IP and Related Laws, IP Regulatory Body, Utility Models Notes This consolidated version of the Law on Patents 1970 takes into account amendments up to Federal Law Gazette I No. 37/2018 (BGBI.I No. 37/2018)), which entered into force on May 25, 2018. Article 96 of the said amending Federal Law Gazette I No. 37/2018 introduced amendments to the following provisions of this consolidated version of the Law on Patents 1970: - The heading of Section 81 reads: "Access to files and data protection"; and Paragraph 8 is added to Article 81 under Part II (Patent Authorities and Patent Bodies); - Paragraph 4 was added to Section 180b under Part VII (Transitional and Final Provisions). The above-mentioned amendments (in force from May 25, 2018) make this consolidated version of the Law on Patent amended up to May 25, 2018.
