Year of Version 2016 Dates Entry into force: March 2, 2016 Published: December 23, 2015 Promulgated: December 21, 2015 Adopted: November 25, 2015 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Trademarks Notes Law No. 27.222 was adopted on November 25, 2015, was promulgated by the President on December 21, 2015, published in the Official Gazette on December 23, 2015, and entered into force on March 22, 2016 (90 days after its date of publication, December 23, 2015). This Law provides that mediation proceedings do not suspend the one-year term to settle trademark oppositions. It amends Articles 16 and 17 of Law No. 22.362 on Trademarks and Designations, and Article 18 of Law No. 26.589 on the Mandatory Mediation Proceedings prior to the Court Proceedings.
