Amendments concerning obstacles of registration within the meaning of EU regulation 510/2006 on geographical indications and designation of origin for agricultural products and foodstuff. Section 14 subsection 1 paragraph 11 was amended so as to correspond to the wording of article 14 of the EU regulation. Sections 31 and 56 f concerning the appointment of a representative to represent an applicant who is not domiciled in Finland were also amended. The amendment enabled the appointment of a representative residing in any EEA country i.e. it is no longer required that the representative has to reside in Finland.

This consolidated version of the Trademarks Act incorporates all the amendments up to Act No. 716/2016 of August 25, 2016, which entered into force on January 1, 2017.
