Office Order No. 139, issued by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) pursuant to the accession of the Philippines to the Madrid Protocol on July 25, 2012, implements the provisions of the Madrid Protocol and supplements the provisions of the IP Code to govern the international registration of marks filed under the Madrid Protocol. Section 15 of the Office Order states that these Regulations take effect on July 25, 2012, after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation.
