In accordance with Article 28(1)(iii) of the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement, the European Union has been duly authorized, in accordance with its internal procedures, to become party to the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement and that, under the constituting treaties of the European Union, legislation applies under which regional titles of protection can be obtained in respect of geographical indications. (see Lisbon Notification No. 42)

This Contracting Party avails itself of the possibility provided for in Article 29(4) of the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement to extend by one year the time limit referred to in Article 15(1) of the Act, and the periods referred to in Article 17 of the Geneva Act, in accordance with the procedures specified in the Common Regulations. (see Lisbon Notification No. 42)

In accordance with Article 6(5)(b) of the Geneva Act and with its national legislation, the Russian Federation declares that, a registered appellation of origin or geographical indication shall be protected from the date on which the decision to grant legal protection is taken. (see Lisbon Notification No. 56)

This Contracting Party avails itself of the possibility provided for in Article 29(4) of the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement to extend by one year the time limit referred to in Article 15(1) of the Act in accordance with the procedures specified in the Common Regulations. (see Lisbon Notification No. 56)

In accordance with Article 7(4) of the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement, this Contracting Party has declared that it requires an administrative fee relating to the use by the beneficiaries of the appellation of origin or the geographical indication in that Contracting Party. (see Lisbon Notification No. 56)

The Republic of Côte d'Ivoire being a Member State of the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI), the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement will enter into force, with respect to the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, three months after the date on which OAPI deposits its instrument of accession to the said Act in accordance with Articles 28 and 29 of the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement, and the required number of accessions/ratifications has been reached.
